Central City Development Group (CCDG) was selected to assist expansion efforts for Chick-fil-A into the Southern California market in 2009. Visionary Chick-fil-A founder, S. Truett Cathy, knew exactly who to hire for developmental consultation in the Los Angeles Area and CCDG rewarded his decision by successfully developing and negotiating the opening of Chick-fil-A at USC (downtown), Chick-fill-A in Hollywood (Sunset & Highland), and Chick-fil-A in San Fernando Valley (Northridge).
In an environment like the Los Angeles Region - where generally there is a negative “perception” about fast food restaurants among City officials and general public, CCDG takes pride in being able to work out three “Win-Win” negotiations, agreements, and approvals among City elected officials, neighborhood councils, and above three communities in accommodating all three projects. As our client said, “we worked magic”!
Based and originated in Atlanta, Georgia, the popular restaurant Chick-fil-A has been an established brand for over 50 years. The signature menu item that has attributed to the success and customer loyalty is the Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich. The recipe for this boneless food court favorite was created by founder Truett Cathy in 1946, in his first restaurant named Dwarf Grill. The "Eat Mor Chikin" slogan and uprising of renegade cows has become a marketing campaign increasingly familiar to and adored by American culture.
The successful chain currently serves to please taste buds at over 1,700 locations across 39 states operating primarily as licensed outlets, shopping mall food courts, various multi-use real estate locations, as well as stand-alone restaurants. Central City Development Group has assisted in the insertion into the Southern California market with three stand-alone fast food restaurants.
The tradition of giving is an important core value practiced throughout every aspect of the business from customer satisfaction to new employee training. With every successful and profitable business year, Chick-fil-A and the Cathy family have practiced a social responsibility of giving back through various programs on both the small and large scale through contributions and sponsorships.
Proud partners with the Big 12 Conference and NCAA football, the Chick-fil-A Bowl game, played in the Georgia dome, has generated the most in charitable donations of any Bowl game with over $15.7 million, as well as a record $7.1 million given to LSU and the University of Clemson. In just the past three years, Chick-fil-A and its franchise operators have given over $68 million to 700 organizations promoting leadership and family enrichment, youth and education, and local communities.
With 50 years of success from a sound business model, stellar social responsibility, customer service and superb use of multi-use locations, Chick-fil-A and founder Truett Cathy look forward to endless years of future success partnering with CCDG in the Los Angeles Area.
